Looking at a 2017 John Deere 5075E on AuctionsOverTrader. Listed at 1,800 hours for $34k. Dealers around here want $46-48k for similar units.

The hours seem reasonable but how do I know they're accurate? Also they mention a 5-day testing period - anyone actually use that?
Bought a Kubota M7060 from them last spring. The 5-day inspection is real - clock starts when the tractor hits your property. Gives you time to have a mechanic look it over. If something's off from the listing you can return it.

As for hours, they pull from the hour meter and usually include a photo of it in the listing. My Kubota matched exactly what was posted.
1,800 hours on an '17 5075E is pretty low actually. That's like 225 hours a year - probably a hobby farm unit. I'd jump on that.

The testing period is legit. Had my guy check my excavator on day 2. No issues but nice knowing I could've sent it back if there were.
@TriCountyFarms You can check the inspection report if it's available, or look at the service history if it was dealer-serviced. But honestly that's what the 5-day window is for. Run it hard, check for wear patterns that don't match the hours. A mechanic will know pretty quick if something's off.
Following this. Been burned before on a "low hour" tractor that turned out to be clocked. The inspection period sounds like good protection though.
Checked the service history (was available), it had two oil changes on record at 600 and 1,200 hours. Lines up with the 1,800 on the listing. Went ahead and bought it. Should be here in about a week. Already have my mechanic scheduled for day 2 of the inspection window.
